I and my husband bought the house we live in two years ago. It was a very dark and dingy house with weird elements- think orange ceilings and pink carpet- but the structure and layout were pretty good. I knew we could make this fixer upper better and brighter and put our own stamp in the process.

Before embarking on this journey, neither of us had any experience with construction, DIY projects or anything of that sort, in fact we hadn't put a nail in the wall in our lives prior to this adventure! It was a steep learning curve as you will see in the upcoming posts: we learnt how to paint, remove carpet, level floors, install wooden floors, work with lights among some big projects. We also ended up getting too excited in the process and built a bed, stitched curtains (since I couldn't find 20 feet curtains easily), stenciled walls, assembled and installed chandeliers (which is no easy task- it took me seven hours to assemble one!), refinished old furniture and the list goes on. I now feel much confident to undertake a project of any caliber and hopefully will continue to make places more beautiful and functional- a passion that started with my house will not end there.

In the Home Decor section of the website, you will find blog posts on our room transformations and I will discuss individual projects within a room such as curtains, stenciled wall separately.

We love to travel around the world- explore different cultures and cuisines. In the travel section of the website, I will document our travels both domestic and international and share the beauty with the readers of the blog.

HEALTH AND FITNESS

I have, like most people, struggled with my weight and health. Having lost 40 plus pounds, which was one third of my body weight at the time, I have learnt a bit about health and food and would love to share my experiences, struggles and know-how with the readers of this blog.
